At least three persons including a woman were killed in exchange of fire between two neighbouring families in district Charsadda on Sunday. According to local police, the exchange of fire occurred in Dheri Sikandar Khan village in Shabqadar over a dispute regarding women in which Asif Khan from one group died and his wife was critically injured, while from the other group, Roohul Amin and his niece lost their lives.

Both the groups are close relatives and their houses are very near to each other. Sources said there was a long standing dispute between the two families over a matrimonial issue. The police said they exchanged fire last night, in which three persons including a woman were killed. The police added that Asif Alam was killed and his wife got seriously injured, while Roohul Amin and his nice were killed on the spot. Meanwhile, the local police have arrested an accused of raping a 7-old child in Upper Dir on Sunday.

According to local police, the sexual assault on a student of class-1, 7year old Shoaib, occurred in Barawal area of Upper Dir. Police said the incident happened in Chaptara area where seven-year-old Shoaib was allegedly sodomised by Abid. The child was coming back home after tuition when Abid, who was standing in a field, asked him to take spectacles of his brother to his home. The accused then forcibly took the child to the field and subjected him to sexual abuse.

Parents of the child said a passer-by, Abdur Razzaq, heard the cries of the child in the field and upon his intervention the accused escaped from the scene. Police said the accused has been arrested after registration of case against him. The affected child has been sent to Peshawar for medical check-up. Further action against the accused will be taken after arrival of medical report.
